Catering by Design is celebrating the July 4th holiday with homemade North Carolina BBQ! Are you having an outdoor picnic, family reunion or corporate event? Catering by Design creates our own BBQ sauces from scratch.
Our tried and true traditional recipe makes for mouth-watering Pulled Pork and BBQ Chicken, with a variety of sauces to choose from including Northern BBQ, Vinegar BBQ, and Hot Sauces.
Many barbecue marinades are sweet, which tends to make lighter wines taste sharp, but sauces may also be spicy, and with the heat, you don’t want your wine to taste too hot. A good white like Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Australian Riesling make tasty parings while Beaujolais, inexpensive Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz and Zinfandel make good red wine choices (but watch the alcohol on the latter two). Rosès also pare well with BBQ.
