Cooking for One? You’ll Love These Easy Recipes

Raleigh Catering

Cooking for one person can, at times, seem to not be worth all the work when you factor everything in. You have to constantly modify recipes by dividing out ingredient amounts until the recipe is suitable for just one person. Then you have to worry about wasting food and leftover fatigue. Not to mention washing all the pots, pans, utensils and other dishes. It’s no wonder so many single people constantly order out, or eat a sandwich, salad, or bowl of cereal to compensate.

It’s a shame, because there are many easy to make meals that are smaller in portion size and perfect for singles. Today we’re going to bring you lots of great ideas so when you’re at home and dining alone, you can still enjoy something fantastic without too much hassle. If you’re searching for the best Raleigh catering services, give Catering by Design a call. We’re one of the top caterers in the Triangle when you require great food and service at affordable prices.

Easy Recipes for One!

These healthy recipes should be perfect for breakfast, lunch, a snack, appetizers, and dinner. Enjoy!

Peach Crisp Smoothie

When it comes to making smoothing, berries seem to get all the glitz and glamour. Well, this one is going to focus on a favorite southern fruit, the peach. This recipe is great for breakfast or an anytime snack. You can use either frozen or fresh peaches with this idea, and then blend them together with a dose of healthy walnuts, oats, and maybe even a banana or two to make an easy breakfast that’s way healthier than your fast food breakfast sandwich or doughnut.

Furious Fried Egg Sandwich

Great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, a fried egg anything cannot be beat. If you’re ever dining alone, you can jazz up a fried egg sandwich in a variety of ways. Simple and scrumptious, my favorite is a spicy version using chipotle mayonnaise to give it heat and little kick. The best part is that you can experiment with lots of favorite toppings, like bacon, tomatoes, spinach, onions, peppers, and much more.

Southwestern Stuffed Bell Peppers

Prepping these peppers is minimal, however the cook time is a little longer than the rest of these recipes. That being said, if you like food with a southwestern flare, then you’ll love these corn, salsa, black beans, and cilantro stuffed peppers.

Homemade Macaroni and Cheese in a Mug

Nothing beats the winter blues like homemade macaroni and cheese and with this recipe, you’ll never pick up instant again. The best part, it’s made entirely in the microwave. All you need is a bag of macaroni noodles, shredded cheese, milk, and a mug. For a healthier option, use less cheese and whole wheat macaroni.

Fresh Burrito Bowl

Going out for Mexican food eating through your weekly budget? Making a burrito bowl, at home, is really easy. All you need is some precooked chicken, cheese, beans, and other fresh ingredients like spinach, peppers, and onions, and in just 10 minutes you’ve got something amazing coming out of the microwave.

As you can see, cooking for one really does not have to be all that difficult. Yes, it does take a little planning but the minimal amount of effort it takes to create these great dishes will be worth it.
