Spring Weddings at The Fair Barn

[metaslider id=9145]

The Fair Barn, located in Pinehurst, is the oldest surviving early twentieth-century fair exhibition hall in the state of North Carolina. Built in 1917 for the Sandhills’ Fair, it’s now one of the premier multi-use event centers for this area.

We recently had the great pleasure of providing the food for an amazing wedding at The Fair Barn and wanted to share some amazing pictures. We want to wish the newlyweds, Emily and Andrew, all the best and thank them for allowing us to help out and take part in their special day. If you’d like to see all the pictures from the wedding reception, check out our Pinterest gallery. When you need affordable Raleigh wedding catering, contact Catering by Design. We offer free menu tastings, a service some of our competitors charge for.

The Fair Barn Wedding Highlights

For the cocktail hour, we started our hungry guests off with a beautiful spread of stationary Hors d’ Oeuvres featuring Spanikopita, Beef Wrapped Portobello with a Sesame Ginger Demi Glaze, and our famous Grilled Chicken, Mango and Cilantro stuffed Toasted Phyllo Cups.

Then after the wedding party was announced, the first dance, and the blessing, dinner was served. The dinner buffet was led by a spring salad full of fresh Baby Greens with Toasted Walnuts, Mandarin Oranges and Dried Cranberries that was tossed in a light Citrus Vinaigrette.

Next were the sides. These consisted of a beautiful tray of Hot Marinated Grilled Vegetables that featured Broccoli, Squash, Mushrooms, and Green and Red Peppers.

The other side was this creamy Penne Pasta dish. It was tossed with Spinach, Roasted Peppers and a Basil Cream Sauce.

The dinner buffet was anchored by our Chicken Breast Stuffed with Portobello, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Vermont White Cheddar, along with a Carving Station that featured a Rosemary Roasted NY Strip Loin. The NY Strip was served with a Balsamic Onion Marmalade, Horseradish and Whole Grain Mustard Sauce, as well as Assorted Rolls and Butter.

The guests enjoyed wedding cake for dessert. Thanks again to Emily and Andrew for choosing Catering by Design and for allowing us to serve your family. When you need the best catering for life’s grand occasions, let our friendly staff help you out. Keep reading to learn more.
