So let’s get right to the good stuff.

New Trends

There are a few new trends and several holdovers from last year. For instance, rustic and country themed weddings will still be big this year but so will British influences. With the rise in popularity of the show Downton Abbey and interest in the lives of Prince William and Princess Kate, brides might elect to go for a more Victorian and luxurious look. Top this look off with lots of vintage lace and lush garland.

You can also expect to see lots of bright colors this year in everything from the wedding decor, the wedding flowers, bridesmaids’ dresses, cake and more. With the flowers, dramatic and romantic is still the rage. Brides this year should also look to add more and more lush greenery to add contrast. The more green the better, you can incorporate these lively plants into your table runners, chair markers, frames for menus, walkway runners, etc.

Don’t be surprised if you see a drone flying around your wedding this year. Wedding photographers might be looking to differentiate themselves by using the latest in aerial photography technology. Some drones are able to carry cameras high up to give brides and grooms a dramatic bird’s eye view of their big day.

Keep the food and music casual this year. Brides and grooms love to see their guests up and out of their seats. Music should be laid back and Coachella inspired while the food should be served buffet or family style.
