Catering By Design Injects Creativity into Corporate Catering

April 27th, 2012

Spot the Catering By Design vans going from one corporate catering event to the next from downtown Raleigh to Research Triangle Park and everywhere in between.

Meetings, meetings, and more meetings.

If that’s how your typical business day shapes up from time to time, then you may appreciate the reprieve that the occasional catered business luncheon or dreaded boardroom conference may present.

Enter Catering By Design! In a word, we strive to take the “B” out of “Blah”. Instead, we replace it with Voila!

Catering corporate events, employee luncheons, business conferences, company receptions, and boardroom breakfasts of all sizes is one of our specialties.

When we say we’ve done it all, we aren’t exaggerating. From downtown Raleigh to the Research Triangle Park and everywhere in between, you’ll see the Catering By Design vans out and about on the Beltline and up and down I-40 on any given day of the work week.

What we’ve gained over the last decade from the various corporate events we’ve catered is priceless knowledge of how to anticipate any and every need, and a creativity that reinvents and spices up tried and true menu offerings. Sure we’re always available to provide the staples expected, but our clients have come to realize that when they call Catering By Design – whether it is months in advance or even up to the day before the event — we’re ready to deliver on their needs with creative culinary recipes and new food combinations in hand.

Pan-seared Chicken Marsala; Penne Pasta with Portobello Mushrooms, Roasted Peppers and Basil Cream; Slow Roasted Beef – take your pick or customize to your own imagination and tastebuds.

From full-service corporate event catering to business meal drop-offs, not to worry — we have you covered.

The next time someone mentions a corporate event, remind them to call Catering By Design first.

In the meantime, take a look at a few of our many menus that we’ve categorized as “Staff Favorite Buffets” . We must agree — they’re real winners!

Thanks for reading, and bon appetite!

June 6th, 2010

We had a great time working with the Town of Holly Springs and the 12 Oak community development and golf course to cater most of the events at their 12 day extravaganza.

The events included:

  • The Town’s Annual Banquet
  • The 12 Oaks Golf Club Golf Tournament and reception
  • The Annual Partners Event with the Town’s Economic Development Department
  • An Open House at 12 Oaks with activities for children
  • An event for realtors and
  • A private 12 Oaks Golf Club Members Appreciation Dinner Reception
Catering by Design, Full Service Catering throughout The Triangle

The Town of Holly Spring Annual Banquet was a formal affair with the mayor and town officials.

The Golf Tournament breakfast and lunch were casual, ham and biscuit breakfast and BBQ for lunch. The Tournament Reception was formal.

The Annual Partners’ event was also formal.

For the Open House we provided all the children’s rentals, including face painters.

The Realtor’s Event included a 4 piece Jazz Band which we arranged. Some highlights of the menu were:

The Carving Station with Black Pepper and Coriander Crusted Filet Mignon and Mustard and Rosemary Baked Pork Loin.

Beef Wrapped Portabello with Sesame Ginger Sauce, and Crab Relish on Sun Dried Tomato Croustade

The 12 Oaks Golf Club Member Appreciation Dinner was again formal. Here are some highlights from that menu:

The Hors D’Oeuvres Buffet: Antipasti with Sliced Italian Meats, Marinated and Grilled Vegetables, Imported and Domestic Cheese Tray, Assorted Crackers and Sliced Breads

Pear and Brie filled Mini Pastry Cups

The 12 Day event series was an indoor outdoor event, with many of the events served without kitchens or running water.

Make a Positive First Impression on Business Customers with Catering

October 15th, 2009

In business people say “you only get one chance to make a good first impression.”

Experienced people used to coach young people out of college to dress up and dress for their next promotion. Creating a good first impression is worth the extra effort.

Light Dessert Buffet

At 7:30 one morning, a business man walked into a local cafe in Cary and picked up an elegant tray of gourmet pastries, wrapped in see-through wrapping with a bow. Someone asked him what the tray was for, so elegant at 7:30 in the morning.

“Whenever I invite a group of potential clients to my office for a presentation, I order a gourmet tray so I can make a very positive first impression with them. When it looks this good, they know I’m serious about valuing their time and their business.”

Marketing and event planners recommend making your clients’ experience of your business an event. Make it memorable. Make it distinct from other experiences.

A fancy lady’s boutique at Southpoint serves cold bottled water and fresh chocolate chip cookies to customers during the summer. A Chocolatier at Crabtree Mall offers a free chocolate. Grocery stores give away balloons to children.

Quality catering is like a gift, it looks good, smells good and tastes good, leaving your clients with the impression that you care to treat them well. It doesn’t have to be expensive to give everyone a great experience.

Many businesses are eager to reduce un-necessary expenses in these times, and while they could bring in home cooked hors d’oeuvres or brownies, the impression that an attractive presentation by a caterer makes is much more professional. Maybe it’s no longer shrimp from the Gulf that is served, maybe it’s a fresh quiche with seasonal fruit.

Talk with your caterer about your budget and the kind of experience you’d like to give your clients, and see what suggestions they may have.
