The Oaks at Salem had a bridal fair on a bright June Sunday afternoon, and Catering by Design was there.

Catering by Design came with a core team led by owner and Executive Chef Greg Lewis, Sales Manager Jen, and Event Coordinator Cheri. Here standing in front of an elegant and tasty display of Penne, Chicken Marsala, a Catering-by-Design specialty, and assorted breads and dips. Everything freshly made from scratch. The Oaks at Salem includes a beautiful grand residence.

The setting at The Oaks at Salem is stunning. A big beautiful, elegant white home with a pretty porch and grand entrance.  A large property with big wide oaks and a pond. Plenty of parking. An absolutely lovely spot for a wedding or wedding reception.

There were dozens of vendors for all kinds of services, jewelry, wedding planners, invitations, mortgages, realtors, dentists (have to have your best smiles for the wedding photos), another caterer, photographers and more. Luster Studios posted a collection of photos from the event on their Facebook Page.

Guests, engaged couples and parents or friends, wandered through the house, talking with vendors about their services, and stopping to taste Catering by Design’s fresh food.

Choosing a wedding venue in the greater Raleigh area? You’ll have a lot of choices.

If this is your first time, finding a list of venues to start with can be helpful. We’ve listed most of the venues where we cater on our Raleigh Event Venues List.

Comparing venues is more art than science. Many venues have more than one room of different sizes (and different rates).  Some have member and non-member rates. Some have a 6 hour minimum. Others are a flat rate with no hours specified. So be sure to compare apples with apples.
