Catering by Design was honored to be chosen from among a dozen preferred caterers at One Eleven Place in Cary for a fabulous big birthday party with a Caribbean theme. The birthday celebrant is Nigerian and had friends from all over.

We are a full service caterer and can cater whatever food you are looking for in whatever venue you choose with as little as drop-off and as much as full fledged coordination and arranging of everything.

For this big birthday celebration, we worked closely with the sister of the “birthday girl” who lives out of state. We planned every aspect of the party with her, and created a wonderful tropical event. Guests came dressed in beautiful colors, children performed dances, the Island Music Trio performed island music complete with horns, and the scent of Caribbean food carried us away. You can’t help but be excited when you’re helping create big celebratory events like this.

At 7 p.m. on the 3rd Friday night in February, Singer Songwriter Robert Starling is going to provide the entertainment for a singles evening, the “I Love Animals” fundraising event at Catering-by-Design in Cary.  The ticket costs $20 and will benefit animal care in Chatham County.

Catering-by-Design in Cary is located next to Big Lots facing Kildaire Farm Road neat the Maynard intersection. The address is 132 Kilmayne Drive.  Admission includes Catering-by-Design’s famous hors d’oeuvres, and your first drink.

We have 3 tabs:

• One list sorted simply by Town
• One sorted by Venue Name
• One list sorted by Capacity (Number of Guests) the space can hold
• And one list sorted by Fee or Price – the cost of the space – assuming a 6 hour minimum, because it’s hard to hold a wedding reception in less than 6 hours, about 4 hours for the actual wedding and another two for set up and clean up.

A quick note. This is more art than science. Many venues have more than one room of different sizes (and different rates).  Some have member and non-member rates. Some have a 6 hour minimum. Others are a flat rate with no hours specified. So it’s just a starting point, and be sure to read the notes.

We had a great time working with the Town of Holly Springs and the 12 Oak community development and golf course to cater most of the events at their 12 day extravaganza.

The events included:

• The Town’s Annual Banquet
• The 12 Oaks Golf Club Golf Tournament and reception
• The Annual Partners Event with the Town’s Economic Development Department
• An Open House at 12 Oaks with activities for children
• An event for realtors and
• A private 12 Oaks Golf Club Members Appreciation Dinner Reception

The Town of Holly Spring Annual Banquet was a formal affair with the mayor and town officials.

The Golf Tournament breakfast and lunch were casual, ham and biscuit breakfast and BBQ for lunch. The Tournament Reception was formal.

The Annual Partners’ event was also formal.

For the Open House we provided all the children’s rentals, including face painters.

The Realtor’s Event included a 4 piece Jazz Band which we arranged. Some highlights of the menu were:

The Carving Station with Black Pepper and Coriander Crusted Filet Mignon and Mustard and Rosemary Baked Pork Loin.

Beef Wrapped Portabello with Sesame Ginger Sauce, and Crab Relish on Sun Dried Tomato Croustade

The 12 Oaks Golf Club Member Appreciation Dinner was again formal. Here are some highlights from that menu:

The Hors D’Oeuvres Buffet: Antipasti with Sliced Italian Meats, Marinated and Grilled Vegetables, Imported and Domestic Cheese Tray, Assorted Crackers and Sliced Breads

Pear and Brie filled Mini Pastry Cups

The 12 Day event series was an indoor outdoor event, with many of the events served without kitchens or running water.
